Are there any American traditions that share similarities with the lottery tradition in the village? I believe that American does have traditions but not to that extreme as In picking one person at random to be stoned to death. Each culture has a tradition of celebrating the coming of age. Like Sweet 16's parties are a celebration of a girl becoming a young woman. In Latin America, Quinceañeras are a celebration of becoming a woman at 15 years old. But we also have traditions like Christmas, Easter, Thanksgiving, Halloween, and Hanukkah that we celebrate.
growing up me and my grandpa didn't have any cultural tradition
I know that I have a lot of Hispanic cultural traditions, but I don't celebrate them. My grandpa and I had traditions like going California every summer & X-mas and buying a new Easter dress every year, also buys a small cupcake for your birthdays. I'm happy that my grandpa never pushed cultural traditions onto me.
