Who did you work with to compose your life-choice memoir? Was this a good approach?
I mainly worked with a tutor and my teacher in class. It was definitely a better approach of me. What rhetorical mode and genre are you using? I'm not sure what that means When did you write this project? Good approach? I began working on my paper late, I didn't time manage well enough and finished it last minute. I wish I didn't have so much going on this week maybe it would have been better. Where did you write this project? Good approach? My car around two in the morning is the best place for me to write. I'm able to shut out the outside world. It's just me and nothing else. Why did you choose to write about your chosen topic? Good choice? I choice this topic because i feel that not enough people are talking about it. How did it feel to write this narrative ("during, after, and since")? Do you have any "if only" moments that can help you revise the draft? I just wished i had work on it sooner then i did.

In the documentary Where to Invade Next, Michael Moore “invades” countries around the world attempting to bring ideas back to the United States. He wants to find ways to make America better and allow the country to grow without going to war and fighting. In Italy where he met with business owners and learned workers in Italy are given eight weeks paid vacation each year(In America paid vacation is not required). They believe that vacation relieves stress and without stress no one will get sick, In France he went to learn more about what the kids are taught in school. Their schools consider lunch as class. Educating kids that eating healthy can helps to promote lifelong health lifestyle And has a good Sex education programs. In Finland he wanted to learn how their education system was succeeding . He revealed it was because the kids spend less time in school and don't have homework. They believed this gave kids time to do other activities and have them grow as people. In Slovenia, he found that kids get to go to college for free. This country allows their students get a higher education without drowning in debt. In Germany discovered that there was a law that people are not allowed to work more than 36 hours a week and when they leave work, they’re not allowed to be contacted. In portugal, he learned that it is legal to have drugs and you will not be arrested for drug possession. In Norway he learned about their prison system. Here jail is about rehabilitation and letting people grow from their mistakes. In Tunisia He saw that women are treated equal with men. Women's health clinics are easily available and abortion is legal allowing woman to control their own bodies. In Moore’s final invasion he went to Iceland where woman are truly equal among businesses. In Iceland he saw that it was the first country to elect a woman democratic president and now women are equal in all businesses. Who did you work with to compose your life-choice memoir? Was this a good approach? I mainly worked with my best friend to figure out the best way to understand my story. It would have been better if I didn't have to have FaceTime her. What rhetorical mode and genre are you using? I'm not sure what that means When did you write this project? Good approach? I began working on my narrative Friday, October 12th. , I didn't time manage well enough and finished it last minute. I wish I didn't have so much going on this week maybe it would have been better. Where did you write this project? Good approach? My car around two in the morning is the best place for me to write. I'm able to shut out the outside world. It's just me and nothing else. Why did you choose to write about your chosen topic? Good choice? I didn't realize that I was writing about it intel I was done. Maybe it was something that I finally had to come to terms with. How did it feel to write this narrative ("during, after, and since")? Do you have any "if only" moments that can help you revise the draft? Writing this made me feel like when your five and you're at the county fair. You see a clown heading out Balloons, so you start begging your mom for one. Finally, she gives in and the clown head you a blue Balloon you're filled with joy as your mom ties it around your tiny wrist, but you want to hold it. So you untie when she was not looking and just like that it's gone you jump up down to try to get it back but there no point. Your mom says its okay you can get another next time, but it's not the same blue balloon and never will be.
Are there any American traditions that share similarities with the lottery tradition in the village? I believe that American does have traditions but not to that extreme as In picking one person at random to be stoned to death. Each culture has a tradition of celebrating the coming of age. Like Sweet 16's parties are a celebration of a girl becoming a young woman. In Latin America, Quinceañeras are a celebration of becoming a woman at 15 years old. But we also have traditions like Christmas, Easter, Thanksgiving, Halloween, and Hanukkah that we celebrate. growing up me and my grandpa didn't have any cultural tradition
I know that I have a lot of Hispanic cultural traditions, but I don't celebrate them. My grandpa and I had traditions like going California every summer & X-mas and buying a new Easter dress every year, also buys a small cupcake for your birthdays. I'm happy that my grandpa never pushed cultural traditions onto me.
“Hills Like White Elephants”Is a short story Written by Ernest Hemingway, symbolize the debate of abortion. Hemingway conveys this message cryptically by keeping the actual discussion of abortion out of the short story. Does the girl in the story stay in her relationship with the man? I believe the girl stay with her partner and keeps the baby. The dialogue between the two shows that the woman starts to realize that she doesn't want to abort the baby on page 477 around the end she says "No, it isn't. And once they take it away, you never get it back." Hitting at the fact that she wants to keep the baby. As well the author mentions a beaded curtain multiple times to show its significance of the two beads, which are held together by a thread, symbolize the relationship that a mother has for her child. If you look at page 478, you can see that even at one point the man Starts questioning whether or not that he wants her to keep the baby. You also need to look at the time of year it is in the story; it based in 1920 where abortions were a crime and a sin. Likewise women heavy depended on men to support them. Women didn't get the same opportunities that men had. Women couldn't go to school or were allowed to work, they had to stay home and take care of the children. This is why I think she stay and had the baby. into your blog post and complete the following: Interpret and annotate What You Don't Know (Lulu Wang). Here is the story transcript. Here is Lulu Wang's website Write a 50-word introduction that provides the focus of the blog post (two-sentence summary of the story and transition to questions) and a link to the reading. Write a 100-word argument that responds to this question: Did you agree with the family's choice to deceive Wang's grandmother? Write a 100-word narrative that illustrates a response to this question: When have you made an important choice to tell someone a difficult truth or you made an important choice to tell a lie that had a major impact on you and/or someone else? Lulu Wang participated in a podcast, This American Life. "Act One, What You Don't Know", is Lulu Wang's story of attempting to keep the secret of cancer from her grandmother, Nainai. In this podcast, Wang discusses her troubles with keeping such a large secret from her Nainai. Did you agree with the family's choice to deceive Wang's grandmother? I do agree with the family’s choice to keep such a secret from Wang’s grandmother. But also I believe that if her grandmother had already suffered through cancer, she would’ve been able to handle cancer a second time. But isn’t about what I or Nainai believe. It’s about culture and faith. By not telling Nainai grandmother about cancer the family chose to believe in their faith and culture to guide them in a difficult and dark time.
3) Life Choice: The Powers That Be? [Categories: Life Choice, Making Connections]: Please copy and paste the following bullet points into your blog post and complete the following:
Written by Maya Angelou, “My Name is Margaret” is the story of a young maid, set in 1928. Margaret was one of two servants for Mrs. C, One evening, Mrs. C’s friends were over and started talking about how Margaret's name was too much of an inconvenience to say that her name needed to be shortened, so Mrs.C started calling her Mary. And to fight back, Margaret broke Mrs. C favorite china. Did you agree with Margaret's choice to break the casserole dish and two green glass cups? In my opinion, I do agree with Margaret’s choice to break the casserole dish and the two glass cups. I agree because Mrs. C took away Margaret’s self-worth by calling her Mary, showing that a socially ranked woman like Mrs. C couldn't be bothered to waste an ounce of her time or breath on a girl like Margaret. Reminding her that all she will ever be is another one of Mrs. C slave and she will never be anything more. So by Margaret deciding to break the casserole dish and the two glass cups which represents Mrs. C wealth, and high-class Margaret took back what was hers and remind Mrs. C that it was just as easy to take away her self-worth, As Mrs. C took Margaret by calling her Mary. When have you made an important choice to either resist or not resist oppression, challenge the status quo, or refuse to obey an authority figure? It was my freshman year of high school. This girl Yessenia did everything in her power to make my life a living hell. Constantly made fun of the fact that my mother is a lesbian and how she loved to shoot up more than she loved me. Talking poorly about me in Spanish so the teachers wouldn’t understand what she was saying and so much more to the point where I no longer felt safe. I would avoid going into cert hallways and taking shortcuts to classes so that I wouldn’t run into her. Not only did I go to the Principal and vice principal but all of my teachers were aware of what was going on and never did anything about it but tell that I just need to keep ignoring what she says and eventually she will stop. She never stops until I put a stop to it one day in Mr.Tompson ‘s class, I snapped after she pushed me out of the way so she could get out of class fast. Enough Is enough I had it with her bullshit I pushed her back and told her that all “she will ever be is a big fat bitch” then before I knew it we were fighting. We both got suspended for a week and had to do community service for the state. 2) Writing Process Quote Collage [Categories: Writing Process, Reflection]: Please copy and paste the following bullet points into blog post and complete the following:
